Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)

It is recommended that an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) should be done every 10 years for a domestic property. For a rented property, this is reduced to 5 years, or upon a chance of occupancy (whichever is soonest). Having a safe electrical installation is a number one priority. If you've not had this report done recently, for a small fee, you can have peace of mind that all of your electrical circuits within the property are safe.

What is involved?

  • Both visual and electrical tests

  • Ensuring correct earthing and wiring are in place

  • Checking the condition of electrical wire insulation

  • Checking the wire terminations are in the right place and fastened correctly

  • Ensuring electrical enclosures remain safe

  • Testing of RCD protection devices

An EICR takes roughly half a day and the report will clearly identify any issues found and you will also receive a quotation if any remedial work is required.
